Automatic printer detection is not recommended because it only works when the computer and printer are in the same network. Adding the printer via DNS name instead will ensure printing also works via the wireless network eduroam (not yet verified for Ubuntu).

To ensure the printer model and installed options are properly detected, select Network Printer / Internet Printing Protocol and then enter ipp://<name>.space.unibe.ch (just entering the same URL in the Enter URI menu may not detect the model). A wired ethernet connection is required while adding printers, otherwise the printer model will not be detected (SNMP packets are blocked on eduroam).
