How to connect Evolution to Exchange Online
Last Updated 11 months ago
If you use Linux and prefer a desktop email application, Gnome Evolution with Exchange Web Services support (evolution-ews) is highly recommended over all other email clients. Just add your account once and get access to the mailbox, calendar and contacts. Please note that this is not an officially supported client by Microsoft, but internal tests showed no problems so far.
Installation
sudo apt-get install evolution-ews
Configuration
- Open Evolution
- Select File > New > Mail Account, then click Next
- Enter your @unibe.ch email address
- Uncheck Look up mail server details..., then click Next
- Select Exchange Web Services as the Server Type
- Enter https://outlook.office365.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx as the Host URL
- Change the Authentication type to OAuth2 (Office365)
- Click Finish, then Apply and authenticate using your @unibe.ch email address when requested
